We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, supporters and members plus those anonymous individuals and companies who have so generously given their time, expertise and financial support to our charity.

Mike and Marion Harris generously donated £12k to buy two Honda Pan European ST1300 Blood Bikes in memory of their daughter Jo who died aged 24. The bikes were named Jo-Jo and Joanne at The Red Castle in Harmer Hill, where SSBB were hosted by Jo’s Aunt, Viv McCarthy. Joanne Harris was born with Downs Syndrome and was waiting for a new heart when she died in April 2008. Her parents Mike and Marion together with Jo’s aunt Viv McCarthy had set-up a charity “A Heart for Jo” which was supported by the first Big Brother winner Craig Phillips who donated his £70k prize to help Jo. Marion Harris said: “Sadly Jo died before she could receive a new heart but the trustees of the charity wanted to use the donated funds to support other worthy causes like the Blood Bikes”. Mike Harris added; “Jo loved riding with me on a small scooter when we were on holiday and would be thrilled at the idea of having two Blood Bikes named after her”.

Rev-it-Hard Motorcycles: Carl and Andy made a superb job of converting a standard mini-moto machine into a one-off, custom built mini-blood bike that is the jewel in the crown of the SSBB fundraising efforts. The build took at least 5 working days and all of this was done completely free of charge! The outcome you must agree is truly amazing! Furthermore, Carl has also come to the rescue of two of our volunteers when noticing them in need – True Gentlemen!
