We are delighted to announce that our charity has been awarded the QUEEN’S AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE (QAVS)

It is a tremendous achievement for our charity to be acknowledged and we are immensely proud of the recognition that this award brings.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities. The awards were created in 2002 to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and winners are announced each year on 2 June – the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation. It is known as ‘The MBE for volunteer groups’.

Later in the summer we will be announcing the date and venue of an event when the QAVS Certificate and Crystal will be presented to us by Sir Algernon Heber Percy, the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire. We hope to welcome as many members and guests as possible to the celebration. In the meantime, may we say thank you to all our volunteers and their families for your dedication to Shropshire Staffordshire Cheshire Blood Bikes.
