SSBB Program The Sat Nav For Visit To Harplands!

Posted on Updated on

Our riders have become very familiar with the routes to all the hospitals we serve within our local NHS Trusts.

Just before Christmas some members navigated their way on a new route to a Hospital very near to the Royal Stoke. Harplands Hospital is part of the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. They are the main provider of mental health and learning disability services and look after

  • adults with mental health needs
  • older people with mental health needs
  • people of all ages with learning disability needs
  • people requiring support for substance misuse
  • children and young people with mental health needs

SSBB members across our wide operating area have been involved in delivering xmas gifts and chocolates to children’s wards at our hospitals in the run up to Christmas. North Staffs members also made contact with Tracey (Housekeeper at Harplands) with the offer of selection boxes for the patients.  After consultation, Sarah Leneghan (Activity coordinator at Harplands) arranged our visit, including providing us with a welcoming party!! She later confirmed how delighted the patients were when presented with them on Christmas morning.

Pictured are Gary C, North Staffs Area Lead, with his very own hospital ‘trolley’, Activity Worker Sarah from Ward 3, Activity Worker Kirsty from Ward 1 and Housekeeper Karen from Ward 2 together with SSBB members, Chair Helen B, Carlton R, and Louisa W.
