The 7th and 8th October saw the 2nd annual Blood Bikes Bash at the Tiddly Pub in Ellerdine Shropshire.
Organised by our Treasurer Tracy H and Husband Jon, months of hard work and planning came together for a fantastic weekend to remember. With live music, great beer, good food and a free camping field giving the event a wonderful festival atmosphere. And all money raised over the weekend coming to SSBB.
Campers started arriving on Friday afternoon, with the field gradually filling up with brave, winter hardy souls and their tents. On Friday evening members and supporters enjoyed music from a DJ and band “Exposed” who got the weekend party started with a bang.
With a frosty start to Saturday, campers enjoyed a breakfast and hot drinks from the pub, to set them up for the day ahead (and sooth sore heads from the night before).
More members and supporters arrived throughout Saturday as the sun came out. With 7 bands to look forward to, starting with the fabulous Hubcaps, and Marc Stratos, while magician Darren Woolf wowed the crowd with his mind boggling tricks and slight of hand.
Raffle tickets sold well, with some wonderfully generous prizes being donated, including tickets to Farmer Phil’s Festival (Farmer Phil himself came along on the day to deliver the tickets), Tickets to Cineworld, and a motorcycle service from TMC. As well as Autosmart, Halfords, the Honda Centre and Vinnies Garage to name but a few, all donating prizes.
Josh sole and the Kooz continued the live music into the evening before some very generous presentations. Oddballs MCC donated a cheque for £250 and the Amigos gave us a wonderful £200, and we thank both for their continued support.
The excellent Collision carried on the music, before headline act Knucklebones rounded off the evening with a mix of classic rock, with members and supporters hitting the dance floor for the final time…with some even taking part in the air guitar competition!
An absolutely fantastic time was had by all, with the event raising an amazing £980.
A massive thank you to all of the bands, DJ and magician who all came along and did their thing completely free of charge in aid of our charity. Also everyone who helped set up the marquee, sell raffle tickets, help with car parking and camping, or just came along drank beer and had a great time.
And of course Tracy and Jon H who for the second year in a row arranged this event and made it a huge success. We are pleased to say the Blood Bikes bash will be back again next year, and plans have already started on the 3rd annual event. It’s sure to be another great weekend, we hope to see you there.
