Sandy Gets His Breakfast!

Posted on Updated on

Good Evening All

Please find a short write up received from one of our long-standing members, Sandy H, from a recent Breakfast Talk he gave on behalf of SSBB

Having got up at 5:30am, “Cause I didn’t trust the alarm clock”, I arrived at Melverley Village Hall to the smell of bacon and sausages gently sizzling in the kitchen. I was welcomed and shown to the stage area in the main hall where tables had been laid for around 25 visitors. Setting up, with one of the charities new projector screens, only took a few minutes and soon it was time for breakfast.

After being fortified with a full breakfast I launched into my talk using both the videos and the slideshow to help illustrate the subject. After 20 plus minutes it was time for questions and feedback which was very positive. Although I stressed that this talk was an awareness exercise, and not for fundraising, I left the event with £60 in the rattle can, a positive commitment to nominate SSBB as the chosen local charity at a church fete in a few weeks time and other promises to promote SSBB in the future. A result I think.

Sandy H

Well done Sandy and thank you to the Melvery Men’s Breakfast Club for your wonderful hospitality and generosity.
