Dear Fellow SSBB Members
Wow…I was a little overwhelmed at the extent of your support as Chair at the recent AGM and stand here extremely proud to have been elected; I thank you sincerely. A great team was elected at the AGM and will be developing in the coming weeks; on this basis plus all the work put in by everyone last year: I have high hopes our Charity will have a great year.
We are aware of the challenges we face and the hard work required achieving our aims. Over the coming weeks we hope you will notice the changes we will put in place. We have short and medium term plans and we ask you bear with us as we work towards our goals. We will keep in touch and advise you of progress. We will also be asking for your input too and will welcome your comments and suggestions.
We really did hit the ground running and the first committee meeting took place on 5th February, the day after the AGM. It was a lively affair, lots of enthusiasm, fresh ideas, plans and discussions. We have started the process of filling new committee posts & are thankful for those people who have offered their time and energies. Committee names and roles can be found on the bike and committee tab in the Rota.
We are well aware of our responsibilities: to preserve the good reputation we have achieved through the efforts of our membership; to adhere to Charity Commission and Fund Raising regulations; and ensure our Charity continues to be held in high esteem with the Health sector and the general public.
We hope to expand our services as and when we are able depending on hospital requirements and available members, explore new and improved IT systems, introduce further practical training for controllers and riders, look at corporate sponsorship and concentrate more on a professional corporate image for the Charity. We will try and ensure good communication to our members.
The team and I look forward to supporting you this year and seeing you in due course at area meetings, events and socials.
