Gnosall villagers are big supporters of the SSBB Charity.
Over the Easter weekend they discovered that a local resident, wanting to raise money for us, was cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End on a pushbike. Fund raisers Lynne S. and Helen B. were given permission by two local businesses, the Co-op and the Bakery, to use their premises to raise awareness of and accept sponsorship for the mammoth ride.
Their kindness and their customer’s generosity meant that Gary’s fund raising total was boosted by another £457.00. Thank you Gnosall!!
Gary Fear, an SSBB fundraiser, decided that this 900 mile plus journey was one to be undertaken on our behalf. Travelling with two friends who are fund raising for charities close to their hearts are presently training hard in readiness for the 100 miles a day distance that they will be cycling late in May.
Three privately owned blood bikes will be accompanying them on the journey to offer support, carry spare kits and to spread awareness of blood bikes in general across the miles they will cover. They hope to be joined by other blood bike groups along the journey. They would hate us to think that they are going to have brilliant holiday so we will humour them and concentrate on their intentions to ‘lead the way’!! Nigel B. Oliver B. and Howie J. We trust you won’t find the ride too onerous!!
