March 22nd saw the Star Bikers Annual Egg Run.
An estimated 3.5k bikers gathered at the Britannia Stadium in Stoke on Trent, all donating an Easter egg which were to be distributed to underprivileged children through out the region.
13 SSBB riders joined by 3 riders from Derbyshire Blood Bikes, lead the ride through the streets of Stoke, which were lined with cheering locals who also donated eggs to the ride as they passed.
Whilst the bikers were gathering at the Britannia Stadium it was all hands on deck for some of the team in the Kings Hall, Stoke preparing the SSBB stand in readiness for their arrival.
Within minutes an empty hall became packed with riders and visitors and the stand became a hive of activity. The team talked to potential new riders, gratefully accepted donations and provided leaflets to interested parties about the work we do. We sold out of lanyards and teddy keyrings on the merchandise table and many more motorcycles, pushchairs, wheelchairs and cars will be bearing the SSBB sticker after today!! Thank you for the £171.00 everybody. It will come in very useful.
Thanks to all our helpers and to all our visitors, especially Sam, who allowed his picture to be featured. Great to see members from Derbyshire Blood Bikes and a big thank you to Star Riders themselves for the invite and the hospitality. Pleasure to meet you all. See you next time!
