The M6 Toll – Showing The Way For SSBB!

Posted on

Evening Folks

It is not often you hear a good news story about a “Toll Road“, but this is most certainly one!

Commonly known to the general public as the M6 Toll but operated and run by Midland Expressway Limited. These are the lovely people who invited Helen B. Controller and Nigel B. Rider to their headquarters in the operations centre to receive a cheque in favour of SSBB.

Of course they know exactly who we are, they see us regularly, but following an approach from ourselves and various emails between Joanne Brett and Helen, their social committee who support numerous charities decided they would like to show their support for the work we do.

Helen and Nigel were delighted to attend the presentation. On arrival in reception they were confronted with M6 Toll signage displaying a rather large SSBB sticker with the wording “Proud to Support SSBB”. A warm welcome followed with introductions to Joanne herself and also James Hodson, the Director of Motorway Operations and Facilities and Karen Johnstone, a Tag Account Manager. Everyone braved the somewhat wintery conditions for a photo opportunity outside with Nigel’s blood bike “‘Elsa” and our mini moto “Elron”.

The generous donation of £350.00 is sponsoring a satellite navigation system for one of the group bikes. These pieces of equipment are vital to us as we expand our services across the two counties to new hospitals requiring our help.

Thank you to all at the M6 Toll. We are so very grateful for your support and we are proud to know that you support our endeavours.
