More Roadworks!

Good Evening All

Not the news you want to hear, but there are some more roadwork’s planned in our region. Once again, thanks to members Howard P and Tony B for pointing these out. Brace yourselves……!

A38/M6 Aston Expressway Interchange
There are some planned roadworks due to take place on the A38/M6 Aston Expressway Interchange starting on Monday 11th January until the end of July!

“The viaducts on the M6 Northbound on-slip carriageway and the M6 Southbound on-slip carriageway from the M6 junction 6 Salford Circus junction will be closed whilst these works are carried out. Traffic will be diverted along a diversion route back onto the A38(M) Expressway facilitating a continued M6 northbound or southbound journey for road users.

We will also be installing a 30mph temporary speed limit throughout the works and a temporary restraint system, with single lane running on the M6 Northbound on-slip from the A38(M) Out of City Expressway and the M6 Southbound on-slip from the A38(M) Out of City Expressway. This traffic management will be in place 24/7. Limited overnight closures of the carriageway will be required, with further overnight lane closures to install, switch and remove the traffic management and to undertake some of the planned activities”.

If you utilise this junction then you may wish to consider finding an alternative or allow yourself a little extra time to follow the diversion.

A5 Wolfshead to Queens Head

The A5 from Wolfshead (Oswestry end of Nesscliffe By-Pass) To Queens Head (B5009 – Old A5 junction by Queens Head Pub)  will be closed from 2000 to 0600 (North and Southbound). Expected to come into force Monday 26th January 2015. Work starts 2nd February 2015 and is expected to last 3 weeksDiversion via A548 and A483 and vice versa.

However, the following paragraph is included in the public notice.” Vehicles being used by the emergency services and vehicles being used in connection with the works or winter services will be exempt from the closure.”

If you are in the vicinity of these roadwork’s, please take care and plan extra time into your journey.
