Good Evening Blood Bikers
We are delighted to advise you that at the AGM of Lilleshall Hall Golf Club, Newport, the new Lady Captain, Sue Parker, has announced that her chosen charity for the year of her captaincy is to be none other than SSBB!
As the golf club committee year comes to its end, Sue’s predecessor has announced that her chosen charity, The Alzheimer’s Society, have been presented with a cheque in excess of £2500.00 from her fund raising activities throughout her year in office. What a wonderful achievement!
New Captain Sue first became aware of blood bikes when chatting to a golf club committee member Lynne Stone who also happens to be an SSBB supporter and fund raiser. Lynne has been very visible at various SSBB events throughout the summer months. Sue wanted something a little different for her charity but it needed to be local and run by volunteers. Following a visit to see Helen and Nigel B, one of our rider and controller couples, she decided that we fitted the bill and were exactly what she was looking for!!! In fact she is very excited about her forthcoming involvement with SSBB.
Lynne took the opportunity, after Sue’s announcement, to present her with an SSBB T-shirt and hoody as a gift from SSBB to mark the start of what we are sure will be a very successful year for Sue!!
Sue will have a busy diary for the next twelve months and she will advise us shortly of events she would like us to support. In fact, the first one is on December 7th when she and the new men’s Captain will take part in the Captain’s Drive In. Helen and Nigel B are arranging for SSBB to be present so that the golf club members have the opportunity of meeting us and learning more about what we do.
We are absolutely delighted that Sue has chosen to support SSBB and look forward to working with her during the next twelve months.
