Good Evening All
Yesterday (Thursday 11th September) was a historic day for Shropshire & Staffordshire Blood Bikes. You may recall that recently we were shortlisted for the Public Choice Award in the Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust Awards. Well, thanks to your generosity we only went and won it! Here is a short report about the event from Roy B!
Shropshire and Staffordshire Blood Bikes are delighted to have won the Public Choice vote in the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust Awards. The award and a cheque was presented to SSBB Chair Chris Powdrilll by SaTH Trust Chair, Prof Peter Latchford, with SaTH Chief Executive Peter Herring, in an “Oscars” style ceremony held in the new Shropshire Women and Children’s Centre at PRH Telford.
Accepting the award on behalf of the SSBB volunteers, Chris Powdrill said: “We were delighted to have been nominated as a finalist in the Public Choice Awards and absolutely amazed that we should have won the award ahead of so many deserving contenders.
“What makes this award so special is that it the winner was decided by the readers of the Shropshire Star, who recognised the value of the service provided by the SSBB volunteer controllers and riders.
“We are extremely grateful for all the support SSBB receives and pleased that so many people share our enthusiasm for supporting the NHS in the vital work they do on our behalf.”
