Good Evening All
Yesterday (Saturday 2nd August) SSBB attended the Oswestry Show. This is a leading agricultural show/festival held in the beautiful surroundings of Oswestry Showground. Several of our team braved the inclement (That would be putting it mildly!) weather to host our blood bikes stand and the following report has been compiled by Sandy H!
The “Twins” had their first official outing today, ridden by Russ and Sandy, visiting the Oswestry Show. David had set up the stand on Friday afternoon so it was mostly ready for us on our arrival. We were also joined by Steve.
Davids employer, Tudor Griffiths, very kindly allocated us a corner of their magnificent hospitality stand and kept us supplied with refreshments throughout the day. The weather was not the best during the morning, with persistent rain that kept the visitors away but, by lunch time, it had cleared up and the sun returned along with the visitors.
David and Steve had to leave early, but not before contributing significantly to the success of the day and were replaced by our chairman and ‘Two Pans’ Nigel for the remainder of the event. We had over a hundred pounds donated and possible interest from 3 riders (One ex-police M/C rider) and a controller.
On our return from the show, to Russ’s depot, we managed a very nice “Three ship Pan formation” along the Nesscliff bypass, until somebody decided he was going to break formation and go a little faster than the other two!! No names!!!
As you can see from Sandy’s report, the weather certainly didn’t dampen the SSBB spirit and once again we are hugely thankful to all of those who donated to us on the day. We hope to see you all again very soon!
