3rd SSVJMC Bike Show: A Great Day Out For Japanese Bike Lovers!

Posted on

Evening SSBB’ers!

Our volunteers are attending so many events it is hard to keep up with them all! I shouldn’t complain though, this is great news for our charity in terms of raising our public profile as well as a few pennies that can be put towards new hardware. Tonight’s report concerns the SSVJMC event which took place a couple of weeks ago at the Four Ashes in Wolverhampton. Thanks to Helen B for authoring this report.

It was hard to miss the SSBB stand on June 29th at the 3rd SSVJMC Bike Show!!! Located in a prime spot at the entrance to the Four Ashes Public House car park and, with permission from the organisers, our members were able to “request” voluntary entrance fees to the bike show. The £1 a time soon mounted up and with further donations and sales a very healthy £473 was collected during the day’s event.

Nigel B, Mark H, Howie J and Brian S were our representatives on the day and with a couple of blood bikes on show together with the mini moto the stand was busy and news of the work of SSBB continued to spread.

We were given a very warm welcome from Steve and we thank him for allowing us to be present at this event. Visitors on the day enjoyed live music and a variety of trade stands on a warm bright day (we’ll forget about the quick sharp shower!).

Being invited to events like this is so important to us. It gives us the opportunity of creating awareness of what we do and to recruit new members as well as raise all important funds which enable us to cover our costs and to assist in expanding the service we provide.

Thank you all. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.

Once again I think Helen has summed up the event beautifully. May I take this opportunity to thank Steve at the Four Ashes once again for allowing us to attend. We look forward to returning there for other events soon!
