Good Evening All
SSBB are after world domination? Now that would some headline, but rumours to that affect are not true! However, we were indeed seen on “Foreign” soil this weekend as SSBB ventured into neighbouring Wales for the Welshpool Air Show. A report is given below by Chairman Chris P.
How lucky can you be with no rain and a virtual repeat of the main air displays from RAF Cosford air show. The kit turned up via Chris at a few minutes after 8 and our stalwart volunteers started to build up the display. David, Steve, Ian and Sandy all with their ladies in support, soon to be joined by Howie and Mark H on one of his detours on the way south.
About 9:00 we could see a fair few people arriving, the weather was holding and all looked good. We had a steady stream of families with children wanting to sit on the Mini Blood Bike or Gerhardt and Howie looked quite tired by the end of a day steadying the bike! Just as the Red Arrows display started Nigel arrived having “escaped” from Gnosall and Jon and Mrs Jon after lunch. We made a few positives in members, a couple of good fundraising leads and about £160 in the buckets. We might have been in Powys but we talked to many Shropshire and West Midlands people and promoted our group to all.”
It sounds to me like a great day was had by all. And as always, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to come and visit our stand and donate so generously to our charity. Without such donations SSBB would simply cease to exist.
