Here is the first of two reports regarding events taking place this weekend. The first concerns our showing in Market Drayton, authored by Chairman, Chris P.
SSBB were in the ancient Buttercross building in Market Drayton on Saturday to engage with the local community. Howie, Phil, Steve, Nigel and myself set up a display which included our first Mini Moto, plus the FJR service bike “Gerhardt“ and two owner bikes in livery. The guys were amazed by the generosity of people in the town raising £180.70 from donations.
Perhaps more surprising was being treated to sausage rolls and chips! This was much appreciated and helped to keep the guys going. We had some excellent comments, found some new volunteers, a landlord who will do a pub quiz and a possible link with Young Farmers Clubs.
Then to top it off Market Drayton produced Freddy to give us a smashing smile from Gerhardt! Thanks from the guys to all those who we met in the town.
I think we can all agree that this turned out to be a great event. We never expected to receive the amount of attention we did (Market Drayton being quite a small market town) so we are truly grateful to everyone who came along for a chat and donated to help our cause.
