Fundraising Double Header Proves Worthwhile!

Posted on

Evening Again!

Here is the second and final blog post for this evening. It revolves around the huge success of our double headed fundraising efforts on Saturday.

Two teams of SSBB volunteers turned out in force at the Market Square in Shrewsbury and The All Saints Church in Burton-upon-Trent to engage with our local communities and raise the profile of our important work. We were all hugely encouraged by the support we were shown and not just from the biker community but from members of the public from ALL walks of life. As you can see from the photos, SSBB volunteers spoke to people aging from 3-80 years old and probably either side of that too!

The mini-moto, on display in Shrewsbury, which we thought would only attract the younger audience members, actually enticed a much wider range of “Riders”, including SSBB’s very own Sandy Harper!

Thanks must go to the Raven Riders for supporting the team at Shrewsbury and to our neighbouring blood bike group, the Midland Freewheelers, for supporting the Burton event.

We are yet to calculate how much was raised in terms of donations, but once we do so you can be sure it will be communicated to you. Finally, we were approached by a an employee of Shropshire Radio, with the the very real opportunity of featuring on the breakfast show in the near future! Once we have a date/time of this “Interview” it will be posted on this website so that you all know when to tune in!
