Good Afternoon All
This is the first blog post of the newly formed Shropshire & Staffordshire Blood Bikes (SSBB).
Yesterday evening (Tuesday 30th July 2013) saw the third meeting of the Shropshire & Staffordshire Blood Bike group at the Royal Oak pub in Eccleshall (Thank you to the owners for use of the meeting room). During the two hour meeting meeting, those present discussed a great many topics, but perhaps most importantly a sufficient number of volunteers kindly came forward to become members of the committee. This is a major step in ensuring the group gains registered charity status. The other hurdle is raising £5000. However, fund raising has begun and in particular there is an event tomorrow evening (Thursday 1st August) at 5pm, Lynn’s Raven Cafe (http://www.lynnsravencafe.co.uk/) at Prees Heath on the A41/49 junction. So if you or anyone you know is at a loss as to what to do, then please come on down and enjoy a great evening and in doing so help us to raise vital funds for the group.
It was also agreed that SSBB would join the National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) as those present felt it would ensure we as a group maintain the highest possible standards and levels of professionalism.
We hope that our collective efforts will soon ensure we our out on our bikes, providing FREE, emergency transportation of blood, and other medical samples to NHS foundations across the two counties.
